In Bay of Fundy off of Nova Scotia and New Brunswick, the tide rises to the highest level in the world and creates a tidal surge that is viewed from Fundy National Park. The tides which are eleven feet high along Nova Scotia’s southwest shore extend over 170 miles to the New Brunswick channels where the tides rise over 50 feet. These surges have created sea cliffs exposing fossils. Another consequence is the tidal bore in the upper bay where waves surge into the narrow Salmon River.
The Polar Bear Migration in Churchill, Manitoba occurs in the fall, usually in October and November. The bears move from their summer location near Wapusk National Park to the ice. They gather on the shore while the Hudson Bay ice forms. At that point, the bears begin their feeding of the seals. Sometimes, the bears wander into town.
The Yukon Tundra is scenic in its landscape and animal life. Its wildlife includes caribou, bear, elk and cougar. The rainforest is found close to the coast. The mountainous area is in Kluane National Park, the location of Mount Logan, which is Canada’s highest mountain. During the summer, visitors will experience the midnight sun, 24 hours of daylight north of the Arctic Circle, and all through winter view the northern lights.
